Morgan Faust

Morgan Faust has worked in film and television for over 10 years in New England, New York and across the globe. She is currently an MFA candidate in directing at the Columbia University School of the Arts. During her time in New York City, she has directed the promo spot for the 2009 Columbia University Film Festival, as well as the short film “Jump” (now in post-production), and is currently in post-production on “Tick Tock Time Emporium” a modern fairy tale about a mischievous little girl who discovers a strange pawn shop on the outskirts of her town, where instead of appliances and jewelry, they buy and sell time.

When not directing, Morgan spends her time in the edit room, recently wrapping Eric Mendelsohn’s “3 Backyards” – a feature starring Edie Falco and which was recently awarded the Best Director prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and will open March 11th at the IFC in New York. She recently edited the Madison Square Garden arena video for the New York Knicks.

Morgan started her career working for acclaimed documentarian Errol Morris on his IFC series “First Person.” Inspired by Morris’ work, she moved to Lynchburg, VA in 2001 where she shot her first film, the award-winning documentary “Treasure of Thomas Beale” about treasure hunters seeking the famed Beale treasure. Back in New England, Morgan produced projects ranging from documentaries to feature-length musicals, including two narrative features; “Shout it Out!” (2008 – HD Musical) and Andrew Bujalski’s “Mutual Appreciation” (2005 – 16mm Feature Film), and associate produced a number of projects, including “They Made America” (2004 – PBS documentary) and “Funny Ha Ha” (2003 – Feature Film).
